Wild Land Areas

What is it:

Wildness is a quality which people experience by a perceptual response. Wild land areas are the most extensive areas where these qualities are best expressed. As perceptual responses cannot be mapped, physical attributes were used to inform the preparation of mapped Wild Land Areas by SNH.  Wild Land Areas are mainly terrestrial but some include stretches of the coast.
