The Licensing Operations Team of Marine Scotland (MS-LOT) is the licensing authority, on behalf of Scottish Ministers, which determines applications for ‘marine licences’ under Part 4 of the Marine (Scotland) Act 2010. 

An applicant has approached MS-LOT to seek a marine licence, further details can be found in the documentation.

Please note that the Scottish Ministers direct that The Marine Works (Environmental Impact assessment) (Scotland) Regulations 2017 (as amended) (“the 2017 MW Regulations”) do not apply in this case. The Scottish Ministers are satisfied an assessment of the effects on the environment of the works has been carried out by Fife Council and is sufficient to meet the requirements of Directive 2011/92/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council on the assessment of the effects of certain public and private projects on the environment, as per Regulation 8(4) of the 2017 MW Regulations. A full Environmental Impact Assessment process will not be required for the marine licensable construction works.
