- Marine Scotland MAPS NMPi (National Marine Plan interactive) is Marine Scotland’s on-line planning portal making spatial data available to marine stakeholders in an easily accessible form to assist with the implementation of marine planning.
- Marine Scotland works with Scottish Natural Heritage, Scottish Environment Protection Agency, Joint Nature Conservation Committee and Marine Alliance for Science and Technology for Scotland to manage the content of Maps NMPi.
- MS Maps NMPi is part of the Scotland’s Environment family and carries the ‘part of Scotland’s environment’ logo.
- MS Maps NMPi, together with Marine Scotland Information and Marine Scotland Data is part of the Marine Scotland Open Data Network. For use statistics of these platforms see graphs below.

It is understood that the increase in users in February 2020 relates to a forum based maths challenge about Scottish fishing.
* please note that due to technical reasons, statistics for MS Maps NMPi were not collected fully during April, May, June & July 2018.
Pages: The total number of individual web site pages that has been requested by all users during all sessions. Pages are independent of the aggregation level.
Users = The number of unique individuals (or devices) that have accessed the site in the given period (e.g. if data are summarised monthly, then it is the unique number of people in the given month. The same user may have visited the site in a separate month and will be counted again for this month. But if data were aggregated on an annual basis, this user would only count as one)
Sessions = The number of times the site was visited. Each session consists of the entire period spend browsing the site pages until a user leaves the site or close the web browser. Sessions are independent of the aggregation level.
