Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) Order 2013 - Scottish Zone; Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) and Gas Importation and Storage Zone (GISZ) Limits - EEZ Order 2013

What is it:

An exclusive economic zone (EEZ) is the zone in which the coastal state exercises the rights under Part V of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. These rights relate principally to the water column and may extend to 200 nautical miles from baselines.

Article 2 of the Exclusive Economic Zone Order 2013 declares the area of the United Kingdom EEZ. The Order came into force on 31 March 2014. The layer shows the EEZ around Scotland: Scotland being defined under the terms of the Scotland Act 1998.

Updated figures about the size of the Scottish sea area etc. (as found in Scotland’s Marine Atlas) can be accessed in the ‘Data Sources’ tab at the bottom of the page.

See the legend tab on MS Maps NMPi layers for the various components of the limit; part of the limit is the Scottish Adjacent Waters Boundary.
