Caithness Moray HVDC Cable

The Licensing Operations Team of Marine Scotland (MS-LOT) is the licensing authority, on behalf of Scottish Ministers, which determines applications for ‘marine licences’ under Part 4 of the Marine (Scotland) Act 2010. 

An applicant has approached MS-LOT to seek a marine licence, further details can be found in the documentation.

Please note that this application is for a variation to two existing licences. The variation seeks to vary the following marine licenses as detailed:

Summary of variation requested:

1. Additional 25 000 tonnes of rock, between 10 and 600mm in size
2. Update to installation method to include Controlled Flow Excavation (CFE)
3. Installation of up to 1000m of cable protection system i.e Cast Iron Shell or Tekmar or similar up to 500mm dia
4. Update to cable burial plan
