Fishing pressures can be managed using spatial measures such as prohibiting or restricting certain types of fishing, target species, or vessel capacity. This dataset depicts restrictions on fishing with SCALLOP DREDGES defined by EU, UK and Scottish legislation since 1986. Polygons were simplified for web use and are for illustrative purposes only. Guidance should be sought from Fishery Offices on interpreting legislation.
 

Salmon and Sea Trout - Salmon Fishery Statistical Regions

Salmon Fishery Statistical Region boundaries, used by Scottish Government Marine Scotland for reporting annual statistics obtained from salmon catch returns made by the owners/occupiers/agents of salmon fisheries. (Salmon Fishery Statistical Districts amalgamated into Regions.)  Salmon Fishery Statistical Region boundaries were derived by Scottish Government Marine Scotland from Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) Catchment boundaries, Institute of Hydrology 1:50,000 DTM data and the Salmon Fisheries (Scotland) Act 1868, with some input from District Salmon Fishery Boards.

The data can be shared on request if a user provides evidence that they hold a licence from the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology (CEH) for the 1:50,000 Digital Terrain Model (DTM).

Sites and vessels designated under the Protection of Military Remains Act 1986 ("war graves") - protected wrecks

The Protection of Military Remains Act 1986 deals with wrecks of both aircraft and ships, and all military aircraft are automatically protected under this legislation. This dataset show the locations of protected places and controlled sites designated under The Protection of Military Remains Act 1986 (Designation of Vessels and Controlled Sites) Order 2017. Commonly called "war graves", they are more correctly referred to as "military maritime graves".

Salmon Rivers in Scotland (2008), produced by Scottish Government Marine Scotland Science with information from Fisheries Trusts and other sources. The 2008 digital salmon rivers data was produced from the earlier salmon distribution map (Gardiner and Egglishaw, 1986) along with new information from Fisheries Trusts and other sources. The collated data were coded on to Centre for Ecology and Hydrology (CEH) 1:50,000 digital rivers data. Gardiner, R. and Egglishaw, H. (1986).
