Description
Natura 2000 sites, Special Protection Areas ( SPA) and Special Areas of Conservation ( SAC) designated respectively under two European directives, Directive 79/409/ EEC (otherwise known as the Birds Directive) and Council Directive 92/43/ EEC (otherwise known as the Habitats Directive) represent some of the very best of Scotland's marine natural heritage. This layer displays the offshore Special Areas of Conservation (SACs) around Scotland.
