Neart na Gaoithe Offshore Windfarm (Revised Design) - Section 36 Consent Variation - Appropriate Assessment Validation

Appropriate Assessment validation in respect of the request to vary the section 36 consent of the Neart na Gaoithe Offshore Windfarm

The variation application sought to amend Annex 1 and Annex 2 of the s.36 consent granted on 3 December 2018 to allow the following variations :

• The removal of references to the Offshore Substation Platforms (“OSPs”), interconnector cables, and Offshore Export Cables (“OEC”) from the Description of the Development in Annex 1 and from conditions 12 and 22 of Annex 2;
• Amendment of minimum blade tip clearance in Annex 1 from 35 metres to 36 metres (measured from Lowest Astronomical Tide (“LAT”)); and
• Amendment of blade width in Annex 1 from 4.5 metres to 5.5 metres
