  • Temperature - every 30 minutes (since July 2013)
  • Salinity - weekly (since April 2017)
  • Water Chemistry - weekly (since April 2017)
    • Nitrate Concentration
    • Phosphate Concentration
    • Ammonia Concentration
    • Silicate Concentration
  • Phytoplankton - weekly (to be started in the near future)

St Abbs Marine Station

Background

St Abbs is a small harbour village, approximately 50 miles south of Edinburgh.  The temperature logger is suspended on a harbour fender, and surface nutrient, salinity and phytoplankton samples are also taken from the harbour wall.

Staff and volunteers at the St Abbs Marine Station collect the samples at this site.
