Oil & Gas - Onshore fields, licences and wells

What is it: 

There are hydrocarbon fields on land as well as under the sea. The data indicate approximate areas of fields only, not the full boundaries of the reservoirs.

MS Maps NMPI shows three layers:

  1. Onshore Oil and Gas - hydrocarbon fields
  2. Onshore Oil and Gas - hydrocarbon licences
  3. Onshore Oil and Gas – hydrocarbon wells

The following explain some of the attributes the user will see when clicking on the 'Onshore Oil and Gas - hydrocarbon licences' layer

  • Lic_st_dt         Licence start date
  • Int_end_dt      Licence initial term end date
  • Sec_end_dt    Licence second term end date
  • Lic_end_dt     Licence end date
  • Acr_sq_km     Acreage (km2)
  • Spud               Date the drilling of the well was initiated
  • Completed     Date the drilling of the well was completed
