Description
Nature Conservation Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) are designated by Scottish Ministers under the Marine (Scotland) Act 2010. Marine Scotland has received advice from SNH for further Nature Conservation MPA proposals that will be considered. These possible MPAs have been approved by Scottish Ministers for public consultation. As such, the locations are afforded policy protection as if they were designated. This layer shows the locations of proposals for remaining Nature Conservation MPAs.
This dataset was produced by Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH)and is currently hosted on the Marine Scotland National Marine Plan Interactive mapping tool.
